Harvard University Fellowships in Journalism/Arts/Culture 2009

marketiva

The Nieman Foundation provides at least 12 mid-career journalists the opportunity to study at Harvard for an academic year; to step back from deadlines, renew their intellectual curiosity and enrich their understanding of the topics they cover.

Fellows take part in many journalism-oriented seminars, workshops and conferences, and benefit from the opportunity to spend a year with fellow journalists from around the world.

Fellows receive a stipend of $60,000 and additional housing, childcare and health insurance allowances.

Full-time staff and freelance journalists who work in all media, including print, broadcast, photography, film and the Web are invited to apply.

Applications for U.S. candidates are reviewed by a committee of Harvard faculty and news professionals, chaired by the Nieman curator. Finalists are invited to Cambridge in late April for interviews as the final step in selecting the new class of fellows.

and Arts & Culture Reporting Fellowships

As part of each U.S. class, we also select fellows for two special fellowships:

The deadline for application submission is Jan 31, 2009.
