The Department of Cancer and Cell Biology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine currently has postdoctoral fellow positions available under a Training Program in Cancer Therapeutics sponsored by the National Cancer Institute.

Highly motivated postdoctoral candidates who have obtained a Ph.D and/or M.D. within the past 5 years and who are citizens of the United States or who currently possess a Green Card are eligible to apply. The postdoctoral candidates will choose to work under the mentorship of one of 20 preceptors. Possible areas of research and mentors include the following:

Nira Ben-Jonathan, The impact of prolactin signaling in chemotherapeutic resistance
Maria Czyzyk-Krzeska, The regulation of gene expression in kidney cancer by the von Hippel-Lindau complex
Maria Diaz-Meco, The role of aPKCs in the generation of prostate adenocarcinomas and hormone therapy resistance
Wallace Ip, The role of merlin in cell growth and in the formation of brain tumors in the familial tumor syndrome, neurofibromatosis type 2
Sohaib Khan, Mechanism of estrogen receptor action: Implications in breast cancer
Jorge Moscat, The molecular and cellular signaling mechanisms that underlie cancer, obesity, and inflammation
Carolyn Price, Telomere structure and its maintenance during cell division
Susan Waltz, The role of receptor tyrosine kinases in hormonally related malignancies

The overall goal of this program is to train promising cancer researchers in the actions of therapeutic agents used in the treatment of cancer.
