The grant is usually awarded for a maximum of 2 years for a Master’s degree programme, and a maximum of 4 years for a PhD. For PhD, part of the research should be conducted in the home country and part in Groningen .

The Erasmus Mundus programme supports high-quality European Masters Courses, by providing attractive grants for students with excellent academic results from around the world.
For Academic Year 2011-2012, approximately 17 scholarships will be available (EU/non-EU). The exact number of scholarships will be communicated in October 2010. Two types of scholarships are available, namely the Erasmus Mundus Category A scholarship and the Erasmus Mundus Category B scholarship.
