Amsterdam Merit Scholarships
Scholarships for outstanding students from non-EEA countries pursuing a Master’s degree at the UvA
Eligible candidates: Outstanding students from outside the European Economic Area (holding a non-EEA-nationality) can apply for an Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (AMS). Candidates must be officially accepted into a full-time degree programme at the UvA. The candidate must not receive a full-coverage scholarship from another organisation for the same period of study as the AMS scholarship and must be able to comply with Dutch visa regulations. For excellent students a number of scholarships are available; namely full Koopmans scholarships of €1000 net per month, or partial scholarships of €400 net per month.

CentER scholarships
For excellent non-Dutch students a number of scholarships are available; namely full Koopmans scholarships of €1000 net per month, or partial scholarships of €420 net per month. In 2009/2010 we awarded ten “Koopmans” scholarships and fifty-six partial scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and always include a tuition waiver for non-EEA students. Students joining the programme in the second Research Master year are eligible for these scholarships as well. For the PhD phase, a salary is available. All applicants who want to be considered for a scholarship and/or tuition fee waiver should have submitted their completed applications by 1st February 2010.
