The postdoctoral candidates will choose to work under the mentorship of one of 20 preceptors. Possible areas of research and mentors include the following:<\/p>\n<p>Nira Ben-Jonathan, The impact of prolactin signaling in chemotherapeutic resistance<br \/>\nMaria Czyzyk-Krzeska, The regulation of gene expression in kidney cancer by the von Hippel-Lindau complex<br \/>\nMaria Diaz-Meco, The role of aPKCs in the generation of prostate adenocarcinomas and hormone therapy resistance<br \/>\nWallace Ip, The role of merlin in cell growth and in the formation of brain tumors in the familial tumor syndrome, neurofibromatosis type 2<br \/>\nSohaib Khan, Mechanism of estrogen receptor action: Implications in breast cancer<br \/>\nJorge Moscat, The molecular and cellular signaling mechanisms that underlie cancer, obesity, and inflammation<br \/>\nCarolyn Price, Telomere structure and its maintenance during cell division<br \/>\nSusan Waltz, The role of receptor tyrosine kinases in hormonally related malignancies<\/p>\n<p>The overall goal of this program is to train promising cancer researchers in the actions of therapeutic agents used in the treatment of cancer.
