Summary<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholar Awards are scholarships for international students from Southeast Asian countries who wants to study in New Zealand with the intention to help in the development of their home countries. Description<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholars Awards seek to make a substantial contribution to ASEAN\u2019s development by providing opportunities for postgraduate study (i.e. Postgraduate Diploma, Master\u2019s degree and doctorate\/PhD) in New Zealand.<\/p>\n The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholar Awards are funded by the New Zealand Aid Programme, the New Zealand Government\u2019s international development programme. They are managed by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.<\/p>\n These awards empower individuals with the knowledge, skills and qualifications to contribute to economic, social and political development within ASEAN nations.<\/p>\n The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholar Awards recognise New Zealand\u2019s close cultural, economic, and geographic ties with South-east Asia. They seek to empower individuals to contribute to the economic, social, and political development of their countries.<\/p>\n Scholarships include financial support for tuition, living costs while in New Zealand, an establishment allowance on arrival in New Zealand, and return airfares.<\/em><\/p>\n Eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholars Awards are open to candidates from the public and private sector including civil society, university lecturers, development-focused organisations and charitable foundations.<\/p>\n To be eligible, you must:<\/p>\n most New Zealand education institutions require a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0, for postgraduate level study.
