{"id":231,"date":"2007-05-25T16:26:22","date_gmt":"2007-05-25T16:26:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.infobeasiswa.net\/archives\/2007\/05\/25\/fellowship-programme-for-research-about-islam-in-southeast-asia\/"},"modified":"2007-08-15T05:35:30","modified_gmt":"2007-08-15T05:35:30","slug":"fellowship-programme-for-research-about-islam-in-southeast-asia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.infobeasiswa.net\/archives\/2007\/05\/25\/fellowship-programme-for-research-about-islam-in-southeast-asia\/","title":{"rendered":"Fellowship Programme for Research About Islam in Southeast Asia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For this year, The Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN) offers fellowship program for innovative research on issues concerning economic, socio-political and cultural changes taking place in the diverse Muslim communities of Southeast Asia, especially as they relate to modernization and globalization.<\/p>\n<p>Reasearch Themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Popular Islam<\/li>\n<li>Globalization and Identity Politics<\/li>\n<li>Islam and Changing Gender Realities<\/li>\n<li>Islam Values, Economic Activities and Social Responsibilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Candidates must be nationals of Southeast Asian countries, hold at least a Bachelor degree and should not be over 40 years of age.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates may work in different sectors including academia, media, and non-governmental organizations. Candidate must be highly motivated to deepen their understanding of Islam in the region.<\/li>\n<li>Women are strongly encouraged to apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Fellowship Value<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fellowship consists of an average research grant of $5,000 to cover all research costs for a maximum period of six months in the original country of resercher, and funded participation in mentoring workshops.<br \/>\nThe Secretariat will arrange for editing, publication and distribution of the report in a &#8220;work in progress&#8221; series.<\/p>\n<div style=\u00e2\u20ac\u009ddisplay:block;float:left;padding:5px;\u00e2\u20ac\u009d>\n<!--adsense#link-->\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Application Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To apply for this fellowship program, candidates need to submit a complete research proposal. Proposed research projects should include sufficient details so that it can be judged for its merit and feasibility.<br \/>\nThe candidates can download the application form (http:\/\/fellowship.arf-asia.org\/home\/application_form_2007.doc)from our website as a MS Word document.
