Topic: Biology of endothelial cells<\/p>\n
Theme: The project concerns the elucidation of the role of RhoGTPases in cytoskeletal remodelling with particular focus on actin-rich microdomains called podosomes and cell survival regulation in endothelial cells in response to angiogenic factors and inflammatory cytokines (notably TGF\u00c3\u00a2). The aim is to characterize further, cellular signalling alterations involved in adhesion and invasiveness and associated with physiological and pathological angiogenesis through both in vitro and in vivo approaches.<\/p>\n
Profile: The successful candidate will be a highly motivated person, with good communication skills and a solid background in biochemistry and cell biology, and basic knowledge in molecular biology. Independently conceived projects are possible and encouraged as long as they are related to the broad topic of signal transduction. Our laboratory utilizes a multidisciplinary approach including cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, flow cytometry, confocal and time-lapse video microscopy, quantitative imaging and other techniques available at the IECB to investigate the molecular mechanisms of cytoskeletal dynamics.<\/p>\n
Location: The European Institute for Chemistry and Cell Biology provides an exceptional environment and aims in the development of first class scientific programs in chemistry and biology and to favour multidisciplinary interactions (http:\/\/www.iecb. u-bordeaux. fr\/).
